Allison McKenna Cook (born July 18, 2000, in Mission Viejo, California) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward with the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Early life and education

Allison McKenna Cook was born in Mission Viejo, California on July 18, 2000, to Cathy and Matt Cook. She has three siblings: Keegan, Madi, and Kaitlyn.[1]

She graduated from Tesoro High School before attending the University of Oregon, where she studied biology.[3] After graduating early in her third year at the University of Oregon, Cook attended the University of California, Los Angeles as a graduate student.[1][4]

College career

Cook attended the University of Oregon and played for the Ducks as a forward from 2019 through 2021.[3] Cook played three seasons for Oregon, earning third-team All-Pac 12 honors after leading the team with eight goals as a junior in 2021.[3]

UCLA

After graduating from the University of Oregon early, Cook transferred to the University of Southern California to play for the Bruins for two seasons (2022, 2023).[1] In 2022, she played in all 25 games and made 15 starts.[1] In 2023, Cook started and played in all 19 of the Bruin's games and logged 1,273 minutes.[1] Across her career at UCLA, Cook scored 14 goals and made four assists.[3]

Club career

The Chicago Red Stars signed Cook to a one-year contract with a one-year option on March 13, 2024.[5] Cook was a non-rostered invitee at the beginning of the Red Stars' preseason. In the Red Stars' opening match against the Utah Royals, Cook logged her first professional assist in the 77th minute and helped her team win 2–0.[6]
