Pasture PDX,[1] or simply Pasture,[2] is a butcher shop and delicatessen in Portland, Oregon's Alberta Arts District.[3][4]

Description

Pasture operates on Alberta Street in northeast Portland's King neighborhood. The menu has included roast beef sandwiches with cheddar, pastrami Reubens with carrot thousand island, and beef mortadella with pickled peppers.[5] The shop has sold curated boxes of goods.[6] Foods are sourced from Oregon farmers and ranchers.[7]

History

The business is owned by Kei Ohdera and HJ Schaible.[1] It initially operated as a pop-up restaurant.[8]

Reception

Pasture ranked seventh in The Oregonian's list of the best new restaurants of 2022.[2] The newspaper's Michael Russell said the business was Portland's best new sandwich shop.[9] Alex Frane and Janey Wong included Pasture in Eater Portland's 2023 list of 19 "excellent" sandwich shops in the city.[10]
