Bobby Rivas is an extremely respected artist of the salsa of El Salvador. He is the only Salvadoran "salsero" available on the United States iTunes Music Store. Not only does his band perform salsa, but they also are known to play Motown, Oldies, and Top-40 music at his group's concerts. Occasionally, songs will feature the Colombian-style nasal singing, which is common in salsa music. He also receives acclaim from music reviewing sites such as cdbaby.com. His band frequently alternates performers during different songs. The members of his band, who have also become respected musicians in their own right, include:
- Sandy Stein (Piano and accordion)
- Jesus "El Niño" Perez (Piano)
- Eddie Resto (Bass)
- Nacho Ontiveros (Timbal and Guiro)
- Marcos Tabori (Timbal)
- Papo Rodriguez (Conga and Bongo)
- Ricky Rodriguez (Conga)
- Braulio Berrera (Bongo, Cajon, and vocals)
- Ramon Flores (Trumpet)
- Charlie Biggs (Trumpet)
- Arturo Velasco (Trombone)
- Erick Jeorgensen (Trombone)
- David Stout (Trombone)
Rivas himself also plays guiro and maracas.
