Amapiano is fully South African ๐ฟ๐ฆ
Amapiano originates from South Africa. Amapiano emerged from the townships of South Africa back in the 2010s, particularly in Gauteng province, but many say Amapiano was initially played at house parties, and underground parties in the Pretoria neighborhood outside of Johannesburg (J'burg) South Africa's capital

Greetings fellow Wikipedians I recently did a search on other genres in music and I noticed they had examples in the form of pictures and samples if music. I'm requesting that if anyone has at least one picture of an amapiano artist or a sample of an amapiano song/instrumental, please upload it and add it to this page, in case there is someone who would need a example to have a better understanding of the genre.
PLEASE NOTE: The files must follow the guidelines of Wikimedia Commons

I have plenty of picture's of amapiano artist photo's, the only problem I have never aploded a picture in Wikipedia Mcebisinomnqa (talk) 06:42, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
This cannot be True
So Amapiano emerged in mid-2010? Where was Kabza when Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the jaw-dropping goal? Come on, this can't be real. Even DJ Maphorisa joined the wave in mid-2018, before Amapiano there was Gqom, if Amapiano emerged in 2010 then where does that leave Gqom? 2005? This has to be fixed Motlatlaneo (talk) 06:29, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

This information is inaccurate and misleading
Amapiano is a South African subgenre of House music, it was derived from Southern African house music and Kwaaito. Claiming Amapiano as a Nigerian sub-genre is both incorrect and misleading. It is also a culture and movement that is practiced in Southern Africa. Just like Afro-beats is a western African culture. 41.13.232.158 (talk) 13:27, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Nigeria has no part in the creation of AmaPiano. This genre originated solely in South Africa and created by South African music producers. 41.13.204.10 (talk) 13:35, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

This is misinformation, Amapiano have in no way originated from Nigeria. Nigerians claim to have created the genre which belongs to South Africa hence the term "Ama-Piano" which comes from the creation of a blend of deep house music, jazz with a new "Piano" sound.
The genre was founded by Kabza de small and Jazzi Desciples. 41.113.148.248 (talk) 13:44, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Please remove Nigeria from this article as it is false information The Architect2104 (talk) 14:09, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
Inaccurate information
Amapiano originated in South Africa, it's important to note that the genre has not achieved any significant popularity in Nigeria. While some artists from Nigeria have incorporated elements of Amapiano into their music, it is not considered a major part of the country's musical culture. Therefore, it is inaccurate to affiliate Nigeria with the origination of Amapiano, or that the genre has any significant ties to the country. 41.13.74.198 (talk) 14:50, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
