Aljazeera.com is a London-based Middle East news website owned by Aljazeera Publishing. It bears no relation to the better-known Qatar-based satellite channel, Al Jazeera. However, it has frequently been mistaken for it, due to the absence of any indication to the contrary on its front page; relatively prominent cases include Instapundit (July 30, 2003) and Oxfam (Cool Planet links[1].) It describes itself as follows:

Aljazeera Publishing is an independent media organisation established for more than 12 years delivering news and analysis to readers all over the world. Aljazeera.com has a particular focus on events and issues in the Middle East covering major developments presenting facts as they happen.

Its site is registered to Island Publishing, London. It also has a print edition.
