Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 8 December 2022

Assalamu Alaikum, I hope you and your family are doing well. Please remove images from this page which show Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) or Hazrat Aisha. I know there faces are not showing in images, it is hidden with white paint but please remove images because it is forbidden to make an image of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), his family members and friends. It's my humble request to you. ALLAH will give you highest rewards, INSHAALLAH.

Best Regards, Muhammad Suleman Muhammad Suleman Hamza (talk) 05:47, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: See FAQ #1 for why we have the images there and #3 for how to configure your account to hide the images for your account Cannolis (talk) 05:49, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest removing the illustrations of the Holy Prophet PBUH and the addition of "(PBUH)" and "(SAW)" as suffixes to his mention, everywhere in the article. I believe it will further reflect the Islamic ideology and context (in which the biography) should be written. In contrast, I believe that denying such requests and persisting the use of false imagery and illustrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)is a direct offense to Muslims and a point of misleading for non-Muslims who are reading or learning the biography.

Kindly advise and specify the page where this request will be highlighted and responded. Jazak'Allah Khair 103.86.53.250 (talk) 06:29, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: See the FAQ above. Cannolis (talk) 08:12, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did read the FAQ above. However, it doesn't appear to have a neutral implication on how the biographical article/page of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is maintained on Wikipedia. Kindly advise on how the illustrations and false imagery depicting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) can be made "hidden" in general on Wikipedia, i.e., for Muslins and Non-Muslims.
Jazak'Allah Khair.

The problem is that you seem to want Wikipedia to be written to "reflect the Islamic ideology". That would not be a neutral style. Wikipedia is not written to comply with any ideology. Jeppiz (talk) 11:36, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that the IP address may have read the FAQ but failed to comprehend it. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:02, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I find it genuinely intriguing how Wikipedia is quoted as the offending party here, when the images in question were created by Muslims in kingdoms/empires under Muslim control 100s of years in the past...--SinoDevonian (talk) 18:25, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, to whom is editing this web page about prophet Mohammed, peace upon him. Did you know that showing a drawings or picture Mohammed, Peace upon him, is Haram. Please delete all the of the illustration of Prophet Mohammed. May Allah forgive you! Thanks! 76.198.178.69 (talk) 23:46, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Birth and Death of Muhammad

The article image for Siyer-i Nebi (file here [1]) should be a left thumb at the start of the section "Childhood and early life". It is an appropriate depiction of the prophet's birth and will add good context to the section.

It improves readability by setting a reliable signpost for a significant event in the narrative, namely, the beginning.

Rather than doing this myself, I will leave it to the first editor who agrees, as long as there is not consensus against. DenverCoder9 (talk) 04:24, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just found out that there is a page dedicated to discussing images. Btw, if you're still interested, @DenverCoder19, I don't mind if the picture you're mentioning is included. And if you want, there are many other sections that don't have pictures, maybe you can add or suggest what pictures are appropriate for each section? Though perhaps it would be better if there was more variety, not just from Siyer-i Nebi. Hehe. Thank you. — Kaalakaa (talk) 13:57, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait of Mohammed

Why isn't there any attempt to at least put a portrait of what Mohammed might have looked like? I know it's a hard topic for Muslims because they are forbidden to draw any imagery of the prophet or God but this is a neutral article right? RickyBlair668 (talk) 09:35, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what exactly you had in mind but the article currently has 8 pictures of Muhammad. Did you miss them? DeCausa (talk) 10:20, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean as a WP:LEADIMAGE, there has absolutely been attempts. A few short comments on that at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Muhammad_images#Question_2:_What_image_should_appear_in_the_infobox?. Most depictors seem to have guessed that Muhammad had a beard. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:27, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because calligraphic depictions of Muhammad are the most common and recognizable worldwide, the current consensus is to include a calligraphic depiction of Muhammad in the infobox. And all the portraits available today not depicts how he exactly look like. Tousif ❯❯❯ Talk 17:00, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the calligraphic representation should remain in the infobox. Hemiauchenia (talk) 17:05, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also agree with current consensus. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:06, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
