Tajiks-closest nation to Uyghurs
https://dzen.ru/a/ZKOC-y7rPiFy_aiT Add it too, please! Al-Khujandi (talk) 16:35, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- Uyghurs are Turkic. Tajiks are Iranic.
- Enough said. SlopeInterceptorTalk 20:57, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Al-Khujandi: Self-published sources, like the post from Dzen RU you cited, are not reliable. "History Aryan", with one subscriber, is also clearly not a credible author. I have included this note on your talk page as well. Your addition has been reverted by three different editors; please review the guidelines on reliable sources (WP:RS) and find a more credible source. You may be blocked without further notice if you continue to disregard other editors' comments and manually restore your addition (bordering edit warring behaviour). Yue🌙 23:46, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Uyghurs in concentration camps in Xinjiang province
Why is this not mentioned in any way here that Uyghur culture is currently being destroyed in china and millions sent to "reeducation" centers that are basically big brainwashing prisons. 82.12.191.6 (talk) 18:55, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- The last paragraph of the lead says:
- "Since 2014, the Chinese government has been accused by various organizations, such as Human Rights Watch of subjecting Uyghurs living in Xinjiang to widespread persecution, including forced sterilization and forced labor. Scholars estimate that at least one million Uyghurs have been arbitrarily detained in the Xinjiang internment camps since 2017; Chinese government officials claim that these camps, created under CCP general secretary Xi Jinping's administration, serve the goals of ensuring adherence to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ideology, preventing separatism, fighting terrorism, and providing vocational training to Uyghurs. Various scholars, human rights organizations and governments consider abuses perpetrated against the Uyghurs to amount to crimes against humanity, or even genocide."

- request to change 'Scholars estimate that at least one million Uyghurs have been arbitrarily detained in the Xinjiang internment camps since 2017' with the term 'Western scholars estimate that at least one million Uyghurs have been arbitrarily detained in the Xinjiang internment camps since 2017' as it exclusively Western scholars making this claim. Jetsettokaiba (talk) 19:46, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- well if any Chinese scholars have made the claim they were likely silenced and or killed, so...
- Are Japanese or Korean scholars unconcerned? 199.7.159.71 (talk) 13:36, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Are there any? So far all sources claiming this figure are Western scholars, and Im using the terms 'scholars' very liberally. Jetsettokaiba (talk) 03:47, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
