Typo in Speaker Tenure Section
Good day, there is an error in the last paragraph of the Speaker Tenure section. It says "11 Republicans and 32 Republicans," when it should say "11 Republicans and 32 Democrats." Archigan (talk) 12:32, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

Personal Life section
In the section under "personal life," Johnson is described as having adopted a black son. There is a contradiction template where an editor has insinuated that Johnson lied about this, and that his timeline implies that he took the son in two years before marriage, in 1997. This is incorrect according to both citations: the New York Times article (published 2023) states that his son was adopted 24 years ago (1999), while in the second citation, the interview (published 2020), Johnson mentions that his son was adopted "almost 20 years ago," also putting the timeframe around 1999. This contradiction template is therefore not rooted in fact.97.144.254.174 (talk) 18:32, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- I think I see the issue. I'll triple check the sources to see if there isn't actually a contradiction. ~ Pbritti (talk) 20:17, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

There now exist a new official portrait for Speaker Mike Johnson. It is now redundant to use his generic congressional portrait that is being as a placeholder from 2022 before he ascended to the position.
The new portrait appeared on the Speaker's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1011336193684681&set=pb.100044249298524.-2207520000
The new photo has already been uploaded on Wikicommons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Speaker_Mike_Johnson_Official_Portrait.jpg Wildeofoscar (talk) 02:07, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not done, but it is only my subjective appraisal that the current image is superior. They're fundamentally identical photos in terms of depicting the subject, but our current image has a far high resolution version available. If anyone disagrees, I'm open to the other image. ~ Pbritti (talk) 03:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- I’m saying we could use the new image as a placeholder before they could update their website to include the image at its full resolution.
- The current image was taken in 2022, prior to Mike Johnson became speaker and it’s a generic congressional photo used by freshmen congresspersons and not those with congresspersons who hold some sort of seniority like a leadership position.
- We can also use the cropped version of the image as a placeholder too. Wildeofoscar (talk) 15:01, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Wildeofoscar: Another editor went through with your cropped version idea. Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention! ~ Pbritti (talk) 17:01, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not done yet. There now exists a better version of the portrait on the Speaker's official website. I've already taken the liberty to upload that official portrait with better resolution. Now it's a good time to replace it with the cropped portrait which is being used as a placeholder. The new portrait has overwritten the previous version of the portrait: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Speaker_Mike_Johnson_Official_Portrait.jpg Wildeofoscar (talk) 19:13, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Done, thanks everyone! Wildeofoscar (talk) 02:19, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Mike Johnson (Louisiana politician) → Mike Johnson – Johnson is the most prominent "Mike Johnson", as mentioned in previous discussions; nine months into his tenure, no serious attempt to replace him has emerged. A page view analysis shows that no other Mike Johnson has even reached one thousand views since Johnson was elected speaker of the House in October, with the exception of the Canadian ice hockey player, who received nearly 3,000 views on the day that Johnson was elected to the position. Against Michael Johnsons, it is a similar situation, though Michael Johnson should remain a disambiguation page. It is clear a majority of users are looking for this Mike Johnson. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 03:41, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

- Support: It is now abundantly clear that this Mike Johnson is far and away the Mike Johnson most people are looking for when they search the name, seeing a roughly 30-to-1 margin for this subject versus all others combined. His longevity as speaker (yes, it's a bit goofy to call nine months "longevity", but it's a goofy world) indicate that he will almost certainly remain the primary Mike Johnson for the foreseeable future. ~ Pbritti (talk) 03:56, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support Passes WP:PT1 (
more likely [sought] than all the other topics combined
) cleanly. If consensus doesn't develop, at least move to Mike Johnson (speaker) for recognizability. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 14:01, 20 July 2024 (UTC) - Strong support - I have no idea why anyone thought that the "results" over the past nine months would be different. He's the Speaker of the US House! Obviously he's going to be really famous for a long time. As demonstrated, this Mike Johnson is by far the most prominent and there is a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for me. Paul Vaurie (talk) 16:54, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Strong Support per nom. As inevitable as this might've felt for some, any number of unforseen circumstances could've occurred to terminate his career, or otherwise truncate his long-term relevance and thus his notability. It's perfectly fine that it took a few bites at the apple to get here, as the previous requests were a bit too soon. AVNOJ1989 (talk) 17:51, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

- Strong Support per nom. He is a prominent politician, so the article should be renamed simply. 2601:646:9982:E590:6853:28DB:A8A1:EDEA (talk) 01:11, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
