Hospitality Association of Namibia: Difference between revisions
m I changed “fully funded” to “funded,” the adjustment is to provide a more accurate and verifiable description of the association’s financial status. The term “fully funded” implies that all financial needs are met in their entirety, which might not accurately reflect the situation if there are ongoing funding requirements or partial funding. Changing it to “funded” more accurately indicates that the association has secured financial support without overstating the extent of their funding. The Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) is a trade association for the hospitality sector in Namibia. It is funded by its members and serves as a self-regulating governing body for all aspects of the hospitality industry. It provides members with guidelines for service and access to training.[1]
Composition
An executive committee of its members, elected by its members, governs HAN.[1]
History
The Hospitality Association of Namibia was established in 1987 with just 16 members, and membership has since grown to include over 400 members.[1]
Controversy
The Hospitality Association of Namibia has recently[when?] been in the news for discrimination and favoritism in Namibia's Tourism Industry. Some have expressed concern about their position in the tourism industry because they only account for 8% of registered firms and 1% of national statistics on occupancy rates.[citation needed]
Membership
Members of HAN include representatives of every area of hospitality, including hotels, guest houses, guest farms, lodges, rest camps, restaurants, conference centers and catering services.[1][2]
Office
The Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) head office is located in Namibia's capital city, Windhoek.
