Vendor risk[1] refers to the risk caused by the dependency of one's services or products on a lower-level service or product sourced from a particular vendor. It includes the risk of the vendor no longer providing the required product or service, substantially increasing the cost of such or making modifications to the provided product or service such that new versions of the product no longer meet one's functional or non-functional requirements.
