Gaurav Burman[1] is an Indian-origin businessman, investor,[2] and a fifth-generation scion of the Burman family[3], founder of Dabur[4], an Ayurvedic and FMCG company. He brought Taco Bell, a global fast-food chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, to India under Burman Hospitality Pvt Ltd[5][6]. Burman is actively involved in managing the family's investment program[7][8].

Early life and education

Burman graduated from Tufts University[9], Massachusetts, United States in 1993 with a dual BA in Economics and History[10].

Career

Burman began his career in the Business Development Group at Dabur India Limited. In 1997, he joined the private equity arm of Kleinwort Benson, a global private equity firm, before relocating to New York to work with Dresdner's Global Private Equity Group. He raised and was the President and Secretary of Atlas Acquisitions[11], a US$200 million SPAC[12][13].

Burman family holdings

Burman and his family have formed joint ventures[14] and partnerships with global MNCs. The family has invested over US$500 million in businesses[15], including healthcare[16][17], financial services[18], retail, and hospitality[19].
