The concept of individuals cooperating to contribute to a body of knowlege without a commerical benefit is an interesting idea. What other motives might they have to contribute? Perhaps altruism, personal gain, a sense of humour, a desire to instruct others, a dislike of inaccurate information, to add memes to human culture, to assert a philosophy, and perhaps many other reasons as yet unguessed. |
