Terres de Druance (French pronunciation: [tɛʁ dʁyɑ̃s]) is a commune in the department of Calvados, northwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Lassy (the seat), Saint-Jean-le-Blanc and Saint-Vigor-des-Mézerets.[3]

Geography

The commune is part of the area known as Suisse Normande.[4]

The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Saint-Jean-le-Blanc, La Moissonnière, Gournay, Terres de Druance and Saint-Vigor-des-Mézerets.[5]

The Commune along with another nine communes shares part of a 5,729 hectare, Natura 2000 conservation area, called the Bassin de la Druance.[6]

The River Druance and four streams, The Pres Carreaux, The Parcs, The Vaux plus the Cresme are the five watercourses flowing through the commune.[7][8][9][10]

National heritage sites

Eglise Saint-Vigor de Saint-Vigor-des-Mézerets is a fifteenth century Church that was classed as a Monument historique in 1928.[11]
