Background
Montgomery released his debut extended play Caught on The Moon in 2014, with its three songs appearing later on the album.
The album became a sleeper hit in mid-2020, when its two tracks "Line Without a Hook" and "Mr. Loverman" gained popularity on video-sharing app TikTok, with users on the app using it in various videos.
Following the popularity of his songs, he was contacted by "virtually every single major label A&R in a matter of months."[1] In December 2020[1], Montgomery signed to Warner Records.[2]
