Incumbent U.S. Senator [[Kirsten Gillibrand]] was re-elected to a second full term, defeating Republican Chele Chiavacci Farley with over 67% of the vote. Gillibrand carried a majority of the state's counties and 26 of the state's 27 congressional districts, including five that elected Republicans the same night.
