Template:Infobox musical artist 2 Ian Watkins (born in Pontypridd, Wales on July 30 1977) is the lead singer, and also one of the founding members, of the Welsh alternative metal band Lostprophets. Ian is straight edge[1], along with band mates Lee Gaze and Mike Lewis. His mother was a stay-at-home-mum and his stepfather a Baptist minister.

He was originally a drummer in seminal hardcore band called Public Disturbance along with current Lostprophets guitarist Mike Lewis. He was also a drummer in a number of other bands. He attended Hawthorne High along with every other member of the band.
