Well, there's almost always someone patrolling the sandbox. When that header disappears it is usually put back within a few minutes anyway. Besides, isn't the sandbox supposed to be a no rules place? DrZoidberg 19:43, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Sandbox

Hello. Two things:

• Is it necessary for you to put extremely odd comments in the sandbox, for example "the sandbox tastes funny" and "no, reply on my talkpage"? It is just odd, and adds to my work in clearing out every now and then. Yo may see my edits with the summary "clearout", well, that's them.
• Do you have any other aims on Wikipedia than to play in the sandbox, whether you're doing useful jobs or not? All of your edits are either there, or the Village Pump edits, which were about the sandbox anyway?

Sandbox

Post all the nonsense you like in the Sandbox, but please not complete HTML pages or suchlike. I don't know how it looks on your end, but over here the thing becomes unreadable. The Sandbox is a feature for newbies—it shouldn't look intimidating or uneditable or they'll go away and vandalize something. Not good. Try making your entries look like regular articles somewhat, so people can get an idea for editing. I have horrible memories of the WACKA! vandal, who just posted a few thousand copies of the word WACKA! to the Sandbox. This made the page 3 megabytes long, and completely inaccessible. I don't want a repeat of that, or something that even remotely resembles it. Keep the Sandbox open for editing by anyone, please. JRM 22:20, 2004 Dec 13 (UTC)

OK - here's my side. Firstly, a newbie would not get scared away: if they're a newbie they wouldn't know about the edit history so they wouldn't know about the reversion war. See User talk:DrZoidberg for my explanation of things, and various bits on User talk:Gabriel Webber (you may have to look at the archives). I am notifying the other users of this, and will ask them to also put their side of things.

Vandalism

Any chance you could remove the invitation to vandalism from your User page? When people put their vandalistic language into their edit summaries, it looks ad on Recent changes, and has led to people being blocked for it till it was determined that they were just following your invitation. Please don't start with the silly comments again. I didn't mention Homer in my edit to the sandbox. I'm not kidding though about the subpages: if you want to do hangman and do it on one of those pages, and put a note on the sandbox to say where the game's moved to, I promise not to interfere.
