:This is a very rare case as most NFL players only play the one sport professionally. The edit that was reverted had removed football but left soccer in. I am willing to say his football career is more notable. Correct me if I am wrong. If you want to try it again, I will not revert it and leave it to another editor's opinion. It really is not a big deal, just my opinion. Red Director (talk) 01:48, 19 October 2024 (UTC) |

:The distinction is important because as Red Director said; Lambo is an oddity with having had a career in both sports. The article uses "soccer" and "American football" because that's the best way to distinguish between the two sports. It is an edge case but merely using "soccer" and "football" would be confusing, especially since there's are easy terms for both. The infobox does use the term "association football" but that's mostly because a situation like this is so rare there simply isn't an option to use "soccer" in the infobox. ::I just don't think this confusion is particularly likely. I don't think a reader is going to see a section about his professional soccer career and then his football career and assume there's two sections about the same thing. Even if they did they would quickly see the football section mentioning the NFL and be dissuaded of this notion. Gazingo (talk) 18:17, 19 October 2024 (UTC) |

"American football"
[edit]@Red Director: Why do you feel football vs soccer in insignificant disambiguation? I don't think there's much need to add the American as he's an American himself and is pretty much only known by American football fans. The infobox also weirdly uses the term "association football" despite exclusively playing in leagues with the word soccer in the name. Gazingo (talk) 01:25, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
