Ashkan Saberi (February 20,1988,Iran) (Template:Lang-fa) is an Iranian Composer,guitarist and conductor. graduated in Master of composition with maximum marks and honors at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Turin in 2024 with Giorgio Colombo Taccani. He participated in the composition masterclasses of Ivan Fedele, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Gianluca Cascioli, Clara Iannotta, Mauro Lanza etc. As an active composer, Saberi participated in the biennial masterclass of Maurice string quartet composing Sette storie for string quartet and electronics which has been played in Italy at conservaotry of Turin Giuseppe Verdi by them. In 2022 Ashkan also wrote a composition for solo cello as an active participant of the composition masterclass in the Estovest festival.[1] His piece Illusione (Eshraq) for electric guitar and tape dedicated to Sergio Sorrentino was performed at [2] [3] in 2018. Saberi publishes his classical guitar compositions by the Danish edition Bergman [4] since 2017. He has written music for several International soundtrack competitions and short films among them War is not weired by Amir Shadman has been participated in GLocale film festival of Turin. As a guitarist he played his pieces at the festival of Turin city of a thousand strings in 2017. He has given concerts in several cities such as Rome, Turin,Munich, Erlangen etc. In Iran with his Guitar ensemble he has conducted several pieces from the guitar repertoire traditionals and contemporaries. Saberi is the artist of Hannabach since 2014.[5] In 2017 his composition Sketch No.1 for guitar duo has been published by GFA's magazine Soundboard. At the same year, Ashkan collaborated with guitar orchestra of Seattle writing a composition called a piece for Guitar Orchestra that It has been played in Seattle. In 2018 As a composer, Ashkan composed Destiny Suite inspired by Omar Khayyam's Rubā‘iyyāt dedicated to The Wheel project for Guitar quartet, Mandolin ensembles of Seattle, Viola and Contrabass.[6] In 2015 his prelude no.2 for classical guitar has been played by Christina Sandsengen in Guitar Festival of Peru which was a dedication to her. His composition Sentimenti no.2 for 11 strings guitar has been played by Afshin Torabi in his online concert during the Covid-19 period which was also dedicted to him. Their collaborations started with Prelude no.1 for classical and Romance homage to Ennio Morricone that has been played by Afshin Torabi in Quebec. At the same year Romance has been broadcasted on Quebec classical music radio. In 2018, Ashkan in collaboration with conservatory of Turin, composed a piece for Flute and Piano called Duo in 2018 which has been published by conservatory. He wrote his first symphony called The Story of a Murder in a Sunny Day which is poem symphony during his bachelor studies of composition in conservaotry of Turin and provided it as his thesis with full marks.Saberi during his master studies in composition wrote his Guitar Concerto no.1 called Cyrus the Great, his first ballet The Seven Labours of Rostam Inspired from Shahname (The Epic of the Persian Kings) by famous Iranian poet Ferdowsi, The young king of Denmark that was a full inspiration from one of the pieces of Morton Feldman and also his second symphony which is a choral symphony called Ill humour inspired by West-Eastern Divan of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in three movements that was also his graduation's thesis for which Ashkan got the full marks and honors. In 14th of september, his piece called The Black Cat inspired from a tale of Edgar Allan Poe with namesake has been performed by string orchestra of NISI conducted by Andrea Monarda in a musical event called Panorami sonori.[7] [8] He also transcripted and orchestrated many musics such as Clair de Lune of Claude Debussy, Asturias by Issac Albeniz, Nocturne no.20 of Chopin, Maschere che passano by Francesco Malipiero, Halling of Edvard Grieg, Nocturn by Georges Auric and etc.[9]
