Revision as of 15:14, 24 October 2024

Doug Emhoff’s entry still needs to be corrected!

Doug Emhoff’s page STILL needs to be corrected by Wikipedia (since his page is protected and cannot be revised by registered subscribers)that states he is the first Jewish spouse of an American President! That citation is premature at this point (9-21-2024) and should be revised to read that he is the first Jewish spouse of an American VICE-PRESIDENT (only)! Thank you! Some sweet kid (talk) 23:01, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It says He is also the first Jewish spouse of an American president or vice president – Muboshgu (talk) 15:46, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse Allegations

Seems like some RS are talking about this: [1]. Should it be included? 2A04:CEC0:10FE:737E:205C:407E:FEB2:9A89 (talk) 15:43, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NYPOST is not RS. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:45, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It was reported in The Daily Mail too. Give it a few days and it will appear in "reliable" sources. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You mean the WP:DAILYMAIL? Most likely this will circulate in the right wing mediasphere for a week or so and won't be picked up by legitimate sources for good reason. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:26, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Like Hunter's laptop. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Would you prefer I come up with a list of every time the right wing mediasphere story was fully debunked? I don't have the time. A stopped clock is right twice a day, I suppose. (It still didn't prove the BS stories about the Bidens and Ukraine.)
Should this section even be allowed to stay here? It seems like a BLP violation to me. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:08, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"It seems like a BLP violation to me." It hasn't even been added to the article. Jesus. It's a discussion about a story that is today's headline in the United State's third most popular newspaper, a newspaper started by one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:25, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You do realize that BLP applies to talk pages too, right? a newspaper started by one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. and you do realize that means absolutely nothing to us here? – Muboshgu (talk) 14:50, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ha ha ha. Wiki is a cesspit. That's why noone donates. You're funding a Dem PAC account Tom Donnelly (talk) 15:13, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ABC has also reported on it [2].
Also see [3][4][5][6]. 2A04:CEC0:10F8:C5AB:683F:72D7:A917:A22F (talk) 11:43, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, right wing media picked it up. Not the MSM. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:51, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Imagine thinking that ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, Alabama, a Sinclair Broadcast Group station, is the same as ABC, the national network. A 2019 study in the American Political Science Review found that "stations bought by Sinclair reduce coverage of local politics, increase national coverage and move the ideological tone of coverage in a conservative direction relative to other stations operating in the same market". – Muboshgu (talk) 15:14, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If she wins, Emhoff will become the first First Gentleman of the United States.

Not necessarily true. The First Lady hasn't always been the spouse of the president. Kamala could decide to have her daughter to be the First Lady. If Hillary Clinton won then Chelsea would have likely been given the title of First Lady as Bill would retain the Mr. President title as a former president. They would have been known as Mr. and Mrs. President. 2A00:23C6:2AB5:6A01:1DF4:2845:47BA:5EE9 (talk) 12:08, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Net Worth

The article suggests: - This individual has residences in three different cities, all three of which are amongst the most expensive places to live in the United States (the Brentwood house alone was purchased for $1.8M in 2012 - meaning it's worth multiples of that now) - had an M&A transaction wherein his law firm was bought by Maryland's largest law firm - made in excess of $1.2M per year as a lawyer with DLA Piper, one of the world's largest and most respected corporate firms (and the couple stated their combined joint income from all sources was $1.899M in 2018 per disclosure)

And yet his net worth, combined with Kamala Harris, is $5M?

Absolutely absurd. 150.252.242.17 (talk) 20:41, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not the spouse of an American president!!!! FALSE

he is a spouse of a “vice president” NOT “president”!! Correct this false advertising! 69.126.90.29 (talk) 17:37, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I pointed out in #Doug Emhoff’s entry still needs to be corrected!, the sentence says He is also the first Jewish spouse of an American president or vice president (emphasis added). Please read the entire sentence. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:40, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
