JioHotstar is an upcoming proposed merger of the on demand video sharing platforms Disney+ Hotstar owned by Disney Star and JioCinema owned by Viacom18, which is expected to be publicly available in early 2025.^[1]

Description

The merger is anticipated to leverage the strength of both platforms, combining sports contents where JioCinema hosted several major leagues such as 2024 Summer Olympics, Paralympic Games, Indian Super League, ICC Men's T20 World Cup, BCCI matches, AFC Asian Cup, etc. and Disney+ Hotstar hosts Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Indian Premier League and also video library where JioCinema already has combined with Peacock and Hotstar hosts nearly all Disney contents.^[2]^[3]
