Muhammad Ismail Darwish (Template:Lang-ar), also known as Abu Omar Hassan (Template:Lang-ar), is a Lebanese-born Palestinian militant and politician who has served as the chairman of the Hamas Shura Council since October 2023, succeeding Osama Mazini, after his death on 16 October 2023 by an Israeli strike.[1]
Biography
Muhammad Ismail Darwish was born in the Palestinian refugee camp, Lebanon.
He joined Hamas and is almost unknown as he does not appear in the media. Over the years, he dealt with and built the organization's economy, including transferring money from Iran to Hamas as well as investments around the world.[2]
He currently lives in Qatar.[2]
