Greetings Wikipedians! In line with the concerns expressed previously, i.e. too much reliance on primary sources, I have created a History section that traces the evolution of the company based on reliable secondary sources of the type Wikipedia favors. This effort is a work in progress and will continue. Cordially, [[User:BuzzWeiser196|BuzzWeiser196]] ([[User talk:BuzzWeiser196|talk]]) 16:56, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

Press release?

[edit]

This reads like a press release. 76.17.241.46 01:37, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to agree, whilst the company has been established for many years I can't help thinking it does seem rather like a company advert than a substantial article. Brollachan 15:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just because somebody is not skilled enough to copy edit it dose not make it suitable for an article. Is a company is in a recognise index of companies it has at least some note. why not just Tag with one of edit required tags, and adding it the a project that covers the relavent area then some one with Knowledge of company's can edit it to expand or remove copyvio or add look. some may say subjects like "big brother" are Non-notable and should be AfD ed.BulldozerD11 (talk) 14:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kennametal announces layoffs

[edit]

There will be around 1200 job cuts by the company. January 2009

The company will reduce its global salaried workforce by 800 positions within the next three to six months. Another 400 position will be eliminated in April 2009. The company is going for restructuring, and hence the 1200 job cuts at Kennametal are being justified as a part of this restructuring exercise.

Other news about Kennametal layoffs: The company had plans to layoff 1,125 employees. But the company has ended up firing 1,380 employees, or about 30 percent of its total workforce.

Bring Extrude Hone in a standalone article

[edit]

Hello,

A pre-existing weak dedicated Extrude Hone Corporation (now Extrude Hone LLC)page has been redirected to Kennametal who owned that company for 10 years only. I would suggest writing an article on solely Extrude Hone. As stated the company has been divested by Kennametal and is back to a level of independence that it had in the past under Larry Rhoades ownership. I submit below some key facts and milestones supported by external links as notability requires only the existence of suitable independent, reliable sources. I perfectly understand that Wikipedia is not a promotional tool, I just think that a company who created the technology Abrasive Flow Machining to the point people use "Extrude Honing" on their drawing like the key OEM's in the aerospace could deserve an article. Please consider that Extrude Hone invented as well the technology MICROFLOW which s critical in the manufacturing of injection nozzle for cars and trucks. When I see that the Ex One business ( previously owned by Extrude Hone was created and divested by Larry Rhoades) has his own article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExOne I do feel Extrude Hone should have one too.
