The Go! Team

The Go! Team are a British, Brighton-based six piece band (with two drummers) whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, guitars and early hip-hop, with a hint of '70s funk. Their songs are a mix of live instrumentation and samples from various sources.

The Go! Team's first full-length album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike, was released on the Memphis Industries label in September 2004 to widespread critical acclaim. It was nominated in 2005 for the Mercury Music Prize, which coincided with the international release of a "legal" version of the album wherein samples which could not be cleared for commercial use were removed.

The bands popularity increased with the re-issue of "Ladyflash" in the UK charts, resulting in national prime-time airplay on radio stations such as Radio 1 and the Atlanta, USA based 99X.

Their song "Bottle Rocket" was used as the theme on an advertising campaign for RTÉ Sport in 2006 on the Irish TV channels RTÉ One and RTÉ Two. The song and video also appear on the Sony Playstation Portable game Lumines II. Additionally, their song "Junior Kickstart" was used as the theme for the "People's Choice" segment on Detroit/Windsor's radio station 89X.

The song "Get It Together" was also used at the Game Developers Conference 2007 when demoing the upcoming PS3 game LittleBigPlanet. Whether the song is part of the final game or was just used during the conference is not known at this time.

"Ladyflash" appears as a backing track to a section in 2005's 91 Words For Snow, a snowboarding film by David Benedeck, and was used on Sky Sport's cult football program Soccer AM, as background music for their "10 Yard Bucket Challenge".

Their songs are used very often in television programs, most notably the track "Feelgood by Numbers".

The song, "Huddle Formation", is currently airing on US television as the soundtrack to an ad for the Honda Civic as well as in a commercial for the Fox Network coverage of the BCS College Football bowl games.

Several of their songs have appeared in many skateboarding montages and in Transworld Skateboarding's "A Time To Shine" with "Huddle Formation".

Also the song "Panther Dash" was used during the BBC's coverage of the 2004 Olympic Games.
