Tropical Low 04U was a weak tropical low that brought deadly flooding to Indonesia in early December 2024. 04U was the second tropical cyclone to be formed in the 2024–25 Australian region cyclone season
Meteorological history
A tropical low formed off the southwestern coast of Java on 4 December. It move slowly westwards, contributing to heavy rains in Java. After got far from the coast of Java, it turn southwest, completed a cyclonic loop and dissipated the next day
Impact
The storm caused floods and landslides in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, killing eight people and leaving seven others missing, with one home destroyed and 39 others damaged in the regency[1]. Flooding also killed three people in Lebak Regency, Banten.[2]
