Pressure (Cyclone Fengal)

IMD: 992 hPa JTWC: 987 hPa

We know 987 hPa is lower than 992 hPa but all official information is based for meteorological service, no JTWC, because JTWC is using 1 min per winds, but many meteorological service is use different format to calculate the pressure. So that's why we used IMD to calculate lower pressure. (JTWC is unofficial agency)

deciding on which of the 3 images should be used for Fengal, im actually tired of going back and fourth over a image, its just childish

It's due to the satellite being a polar-orbiting satellite, where it spins around the earth instead of being stationary. One scan will be from one time and another scan will be from another time, thus leading to this splicing. INeedSupport ^:3 18:35, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

Update: I think I prefer 3 now since it shows more of the cyclone. 1 doesn't have the splice and 3 does, but the splice there is very subtle and tucked away at a corner. Plus, it doesn't cut through the cyclone. 2 has the splice right in the middle, and that is very jarring. INeedSupport ^:3 20:09, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

Dissipation of Cyclone Fengal

Guys when exactly did this Fengal storm dissipate ??? Currently it is 1st Dec, a few days back it was 4 Dec, some think 2 Dec. This is getting quite confusing if it is continuously changed, so plz decide on the date first. -Regards, Yours truly. Igobymanynames1 (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

I'm not too sure. IMD doesn't state if Fengal dissipated or not. When they state that it's a remnant, they also mention that it's a depression. Based on outlooks, it would appear that it dissipated on 4 December. If only there's a reliable source that state when Fengal dissipated. INeedSupport ^:3 18:38, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
