Question
Hello, my friend! I know we are getting into Thanksgiving vacation time, so no hurry on this, but I'm wondering if you have access to a version of this book by Leena Ahtola-Moorhouse. I believe it is only available in Finnish or Swedish, which is fine, but I'm looking for the single page catalogue entry for Self-Portrait, which is known as either Omakuva or Självporträtt, respectively. I think it's unlikely you will have access to these works, but I thought I would ask in the rare event that you do. Thanks for everything. Viriditas (talk) 23:08, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: Hey! I've requested a copy through my library. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the folks in my interlibrary loan department are real-life magicians. I'm in a Big Ten Academic Alliance school, so their reach spreads pretty far. We'll see what they can do on this one! I'll be heading out of town for Thanksgiving to see family, so if it arrives after 11/27, it'll wait at my library until 12/2. I'll pin this section and let you know when they get back to me with some news. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 03:11, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: Just got an email saying this one has shipped to my library! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 20:53, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Great news. I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving with friends and family! Viriditas (talk) 20:54, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- You as well!! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 21:09, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Great news. I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving with friends and family! Viriditas (talk) 20:54, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: Sorry for the delay! Sent p. 134 by email. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:25, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, wow, that's super interesting. Pretty important stuff. Do you still have access to the book? I suspect there is at least one page about the work. Can you check the index? On the page you sent me, the work in question is listed as num. 25. (Självporträtt 1894-95) I suspect there's quite a bit about that work on at least one page. Cell phone pics are fine. Apologies for bothering you. Viriditas (talk) 20:04, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
How to nominate?
How do I nominate?I'm new here as I'm only here for 3 months and I'm in 4 WikiProjects;it for some reason looks like the article is magically reviewed. How do you do that? Spongebob796 (talk) 08:36, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi where are u? Spongebob796 (talk) 11:14, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Spongebob796: Hey! Again, patience is appreciated. I'm a volunteer here, and in real life I'm a busy college student. I'm not sure what you mean by "nominate"—can you be more specific or provide an example? Bsoyka (t • c • g) 03:23, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- I mean...how does a person from a WikiProject like rate an article "Low-class" like that?
- Spongebob796 (talk) 08:20, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Spongebob796: See WP:ASSESS for full info about how that system works! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:26, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from Ceytaire (07:27, 6 December 2024)

Another case-fixing bot task
I've started a discussion at Wikipedia:Bot requests#Province over-capitalization that you could probably handle easily. I'm open to where else to provoke more discussion if someone thinks it's needed. Dicklyon (talk) 04:05, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Dicklyon: Happy to work on this, assuming there's some clear consensus first. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:28, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm having trouble eliciting any response to the proposal. I could list it at WT:MOSCAPS#Current, which would bring in some support, but I was hoping someone at the WikiProject Iran would say something. Dicklyon (talk) 21:12, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
International Market Analysis

- @Romela123: I'm not sure what this is. I'm here to answer questions about contributing to Wikipedia—let me know if I can help in that area! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:28, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from Jayden212123 on Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (20:15, 8 December 2024)
How does one change a name of an article, He is Albert, Prince Consort --Jayden212123 (talk) 20:15, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Jayden212123: Hi there! While his official title may be Prince Consort, he is more commonly referred to as Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, so we use that name for the article title. You can also see the discussion that led to this current title. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:30, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Question from 100%ROEMER (17:58, 11 December 2024)
Hello, I am interested in creating a page to give information regarding an absurdist music video meme. The page does not currently exist. When I asked ChatGPT to produce sample code to create the page, the code looks good but it doesn't interface with the sandbox properly. Any ideas or tutorials that would help get me started?? Thank you! --100%ROEMER (talk) 17:58, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- @100%ROEMER: Hey there! I'm actually going to point you toward my essay on why you shouldn't start an article just yet. Correctly creating articles on Wikipedia takes a decent amount of experience, and you should try to build up your skills before trying this. Doing so would teach you, for instance, that directly using content from ChatGPT or other similar models to create an article is generally very frowned upon. I know this isn't quite the answer you wanted to hear, but I hope it's one that helps you grow as a contributor to this great project. Happy editing, and reach out with whatever other questions you may have! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 18:32, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
