Jean-Marc Nahas (Born 20 August 1963 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Lebanese / Canadian artist painter and draughtsman living and working in Beirut.

Biography

Jean-Marc Nahas grew up in Beirut, Lebanon before moving to Paris at age 17. From 1979 to 1980, Nahas studied at l'école d'architecture intérieure de comunication et de direction artistique (Penninghen). In 1980 Nahas enrolled in the concours des Beaux-arts, and earned his M.F.A after graduatating from École nationalle supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris (ENSBA) in 1985.

Nahas's work is held in museums, private and public collections such as the British Museum[1], Sursock Museum, Bank Audi[2] foundation and CAP Kuwait[3] among others. During his years at the Beaux-arts de Paris, Nahas trained alongside Pierre Alechensky, Vladimir Veličković, Ferit Iscan and Albert Zavaro. During the 1990's, Jean-Marc Nahas was represented by Galerie Marwan Hoss in Paris, Galerie Tanit[4] in Munich and is now represented by Opera Gallery[5] in Beirut.

The most recent retrospective held for the artist was held at the Beirut Exhibition Center in 2013[6].
