The Public Security Department of Guangdong Province (Traditional Chinese: 廣東省公安廳) is the functional department responsible for overseeing public safety[1] work throughout the province under the jurisdiction of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, China.[2] It operates under the dual leadership of the provincial government and the Ministry of Public Security. In each city and county (district), there is a Public Security Bureau (Sub-bureau),[3] and police stations are established in towns, townships, and streets. The Public Security Bureau (Sub-bureau) and police stations respectively receive leadership from the local people's government at the same level and the higher public security authorities.[4][citation needed] The director of the department is Liu Guozhou.[5][6]
