The Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna was an automobile made by Chevrolet from 1973-1976. The Laguna was the same as the standard Chevelle & Malibu, except that the Laguna sported a rubber urethane nose, and no front chrome bumper. However, for 1973, it had a rear bumper that was color coded to the body color. 1974-1976 Laguna had chrome rear bumpers.

1973 Laguna

The Laguna was first manufactured in 1973, the first year for all General Motors A body cars to have the "Colonnade" hardtop roof line. For 1973 Chevelles, the Laguna was top of the line. It came in coupé, sedan and estate wagon models.

1974-1976 Laguna Type S-3

By 1974, the Chevelle SS was discontinued and Chevrolet no longer produced Laguna sedans or wagons. Instead, they added "Type S-3" to the title to take place of the Chevelle SS, and from 1974-1976 the car was only produced in coupé models. Some Laguna options included swivel bucket seats, center counsel, gauge package, which were all standard for 1974. Other options included 4 season air conditioning, power sun roof, and rear defrosters. The Laguna S-3 had many different engine options, with the largest being the low-compression 454 (for 1974 only), with a 4 barrel Quadra-Jet carburetor. For the last two years, 1975-1976, the Laguna had a very sporty "shovel" nose, instead of the flat nose, which was used for 1973-1974. The Laguna had much success in NASCAR, on account of the "shovel" nose's aerodynamics. The Laguna was discontinued in 1976.
