RGS Worcester and The Alice Ottley School is the name of a new school, starting from September 2007, formed from the merger of RGS Worcester and The Alice Ottley School. It will be a private/independent school in Worcestershire, Great Britain.
Origin of the School's names
The "Alice Ottley" part of the name for the school, is named after the first headmistress at The Alice Ottley School.
The "Royal" part was due to Queen Elizabeth I liking the choir at RGS, and giving the school a royal charter because of that. She also liked the black pears from the area.
