Lovedrive is an album by the German heavy metal band Scorpions, released in 1979. The album is notable as it was the one on which virtuoso guitarist Michael Schenker (younger brother of rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker) rejoined the band in the middle of the recording process.
The risqué cover, created by the design firm Hipgnosis, caused some controversy upon the album's release and was initially sold wrapped in paper. Later pressings of the album bore a simple design of a blue scorpion on a black background.

Notes
Matthias Jabs was originally chosen as the new lead guitarist replacing Uli Roth in mid 1978 and recorded the "Lovedrive" album. He left after the albums completion to make way for Michael Schenker's return. However, after 3 months of the tour Matthias Jabs re-joined the band to replace Michael Schenker.
