Plot summary
Template:Spoiler Drake completely forgets about Josh's birthday. At first Josh thinks that Drake is trying to surprise him, as he tells Josh to come to The Premiere for a party. He thinks the party is for him, but finds out it's for Drake's girlfriend, whose birthday is the same as Josh's. Josh leaves the party and Drake sees that Josh's boss, Helen, has a birthday present for Josh. Drake feels so bad about forgetting that he gets Josh tickets for The Oprah Winfrey Show, as Oprah is Josh's idol. Josh is ecstatic until Drake grabs his steering wheel, causing the car to drive into Oprah on the way to the show. They visit the hospital and try to get into her room to apologize, but can't get past the bodyguards in front of her room. They try to distract everyone by saying that Josh has a flesh eating virus, which causes everyone to run out of the area, including the bodyguards. The plan backfires when nurses come to Josh him medical help and give him an involuntary chemical bath. Drake gets distracted and leaves Josh there. Josh comes home and complains about the experience.
Later, they go back to The Premiere for Josh's real birthday party. Drake shows Josh a restraining order for him from Oprah. Josh is upset until Drake points out that Oprah's actual signature is on the paper. Josh proudly shouts, "I got an autograph from Oprah!" Because the first birthday present turned out so poorly, Drake gives Josh another, a motor scooter.
Meanwhile, Megan is pet-sitting her friend's digital pet (similar to a Tamagotchi), Tobi. Megan finds that Tobi is much harder to take care of then a real pet, as it needs to be constantly watched. Megan later falls asleep for 45 minutes and wakes up to find that Tobi is dehydrated and could possibly die. Eventually, Megan gets fed up with Tobi, as he is up all night barking when she is trying to sleep. She can't figure out how to turn off the pet, so she gets a sledgehammer and destroys the gaming system.
Trivia
- Josh kisses Drake on the lips after receiving Oprah tickets, making this the fourth kiss between two males to be aired on Nickelodeon. Megan takes a picture of them and says "That is SO going on the Internet!"
- Apparently, this episode takes place on February 23 and February 24. If today is Josh's birthday and it is Tabitha's birthday and if it is February 23, then that means that Drake met Tabitha on February 19. February 19 takes place on Tuesday in this episode. If this is true than that means this episode takes place on Sunday which was also the premiere date of this episode and this season.
- In the UK, this episode was not the first episode of the fourth season to be aired instead, Megan's Revenge was. It was, however, the last episode to be shown in the UK half-term preview. This is the fifth episode of the season in the UK.
- The phrase "The clipboard does not lie" was also used in a sketch on The Amanda Show, which also starred Drake Bell, Josh Peck, and Nancy Sullivan.
- Josh Peck's birthday is actually on November 10th.
- Someone in Drake and Josh's family owns a Ford Five Hundred.
- This is the second time the boys kissed each other on the show. The first time was "Smart Girl"
- This is the first time Helen isn't excited to see Drake.
- Josh's appearance in the season has again changed: his hair is short, his earing is gone, and he has lost even more weight
- This is the only episode with the use of a sledgehammer.
