Hi, Claygate, and welcome to Wikipedia! The size and scope of this project can sometimes be daunting for newcomers, so I thought I would say hello and offer you a few helpful links that might make contributing easier (and I do hope you will continue to stay and contribute).

If you've still got questions, the FAQ and the Help desk are good places to start. Listing yourself at the new user log will likely guarantee a response from friendly fellow editors as well. If there's anything I can help with, don't hestitate to drop me a note on my talk page -- just remember to sign your comments with four tildes (like this: ~~~~) and your signature will automatically be added.

Thanks particularly for your contributions and comments on Habitat for Humanity; I've edited your additions a little bit so they're a little better formatted for the wiki ("wikified") and switched a sentence or two. If you or another editor doesn't beat me to it, I plan on tackling the new criticisms section there shortly; I think it is important to have the material in there, but some of the assertions those paragraph make certainly do need to be verified or reworded to better align with a neutral point of view.

Again, welcome!

Frost column

Hi Claygate! I just created the article frost column. The phenomenon appears to be somewhat similar to Frost flowers but the shape is unmistakenly different, also in the Japanese version ( ja:霜柱 ) which is where I got the information. What do you think? Is any merging required? Jason7825 02:30, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jason, I think it is different enough to keep in a separate article and I see that you have added it to the See Also section of both articles, which is good, thanks. --Claygate 03:24, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: User 162.58.0.60

Hi, I unlisted that vandal because he had not vandalised for a long time: you reported him at 19:26, 30 December 2005; his last vandal activity was at 13:55 that same day - that's just under six hours later. The way I see it, he seems to have stopped. Also, in my opinion, he has not been sufficiently warned: he has only been given {{test3}} - what about {{test}}, {{test2}} and {{test4}}? TAMU page

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I replied to your comment on the TAMU page. Thanks for all of your citations! Dothivalla 02:34, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of source of article.

I've reverted the removal for the source of the monk article. When I wrote this page, I used that source with the author's permission. Recently, I realized that it didn't have a link and I added it in. Please see the history of the page. My old username was AlexPlank. I will sign in with that name to prove it if you want. Perl 20:19, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alex, I don't understand why you need the author's permission since you were the author. It seems like just a way to promote your other website rather than a source of lots of Monk content. --Claygate 22:46, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Correct version

Yes, I see that now. Thanks, Tom Harrison Talk 02:13, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't remove the report, I only commented on it. I realize that the user's edits go against consensus, but from what I saw, the user likely doesn't know that. All they've seen is being accused of vandalism, which a content dispute is not, and which is likely not what the user intended their edits to be. I suggest leaving a note on the user's talk page explaining about the page's consensus rather than biting a newbie's head off with a block. Regards, —bbatsell ¿? 04:50, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey James, Check out the wiki article ive been working on Andman8 03:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up, really good article! --Claygate 12:38, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KISD

It's probably BS so I moved it to the talk page. Andman8 01:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KISD is one billion in debt so i also highly doubt "der fuhrer world" has any funding. Andman8 03:56, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia as a source

Uh - A lot of schools and organizations forbid using Wikipedia as a scholastic resource. Have you ever tried citing Wikipedia as a source in a university essay? Universities won't let you use Wikipedia because Wikipedia doesn't have quality control that other sources have. It's simple, really. WhisperToMe 19:57, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt very few universities block the access to it, though - that's the controversy. --Claygate 01:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing in print or on google but maybe the katy sun will do an expose eventually. Andman8 02:46, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AIV

Just a note, summaries like this are not made by the editors/anons themselves, but are actually automatic edit summaries. Thanks, :) Cbrown1023 23:18, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that and is good to know, as otherwise it make the vandals seem even more blatant. --Claygate 00:05, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User did NOT state they were blanking the page.

When you listed User:216.54.49.234 for vandalism on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, you stated that the user even announced that they were blanking the page. That is not correct. In some cases, the MediaWiki server software can generate a edit summary. This is normally the case when the page is created, is blanked, or is completely replaced.

Such pages gets a description like "Blanked Page". Please note the arrow link. You may wish to read it further. Will (Talk - contribs) 01:04, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Got it and already notified about that, thanks. --Claygate 13:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warnings

A few days ago you left a {{test4}} warning [1] for 69.134.219.59 (talk · contribs) regarding a edit [2] to the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma article. While fighting vandalism is very frustrating for all of us, jumping to a fourth level warning seams ... excessive considering that was the person's only edit for the day (and only their third-ever edit to wikipedia). As multiple people (sometimes hundreds or even thousands depending on the local network configuration) can share the same IP address, typical procedure is to leave escalating levels of warnings starting with {{test}} or {{test1}} after each vandalism incident. Most administrators will not block a vandal unless the editor has been stepped-up through three or four vandalism warnings within 24 hours and the editor still persists in vandalizing. --Kralizec! (talk) 02:40, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I created this article and would love your help in expanding it. Thanks! --Blueag9 01:23, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, will try to help where possible. --Claygate 17:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sting

He played guitar both in studio album and shows, as it can be seen in mid-1980s. Ok, I have hundreds good edits in music topics, how could I say bullshit?--Doktor Who 17:23, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dok, maybe you should say he "also played guitar" in the 80's. I saw him twice live during the 80's (early 80's with Police and late 80's on his own) and both times he mainly played the bass. He played guitar also for solos, so I'm not saying he didn't play the guitar. Maybe you should just rephrase it a bit. Cheers, --Claygate 17:34, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed I meant that he played mostly guitar in his solo career, since his first solo record and subsequent tours, as it can be seen in various clips and vhs of those times. Lately, he has played mostly bass again. I can remember that the young fans were upset cos he no longer played the bass. --Doktor Who 17:39, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
