Re: Bishop Lamont
What happened to your account? Why are you now posting as an anonymous user? As for the Bishop Lamont artice, if he decides to nominate it for deletetion I'll will valiently defend it's status as a Wikipedia article on a notable subject. It's kind of hard though. Thanks for the heads up. --Ted87 06:20, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Bishop Lamont
Hey! Thanks for your message on my talk page. I'm glad to hear that you are interested in improving the article. Please, note that I have nothing against you, Ted87, or Bishop Lamont. My interest is in improving Wikipedia. You should take a look at WP:NOTE and add citations to the article that help establish Lamont's notability. It's wonderful that this person has been signed to a major record label. I'm sure he's very talented and I wish him all the best. The problem is - he hasn't released an album, yet. You need to understand that thousands of artists get record contracts every year. A simple contract is no guarantee that the artist will become successful.
There is a bit of a problem on Wikipedia, with people creating articles as a form of "free internet advertising" or "promotion" for themselves, their businesses, their friends or acquaintances. Wikipedia is not a free web host, but a legitimate encyclopedia. You need to understand that such articles are routinely deleted by the community, if the subject does not satisfy notability criteria. I will hold off on nominating the article for a while, so that you can do some work on it. Of course any editor can nominate it for deletion. I'll give you some friendly advice here. When you insert plugs for Lamont and his work into other articles, you draw attention to something that is "incomplete" at the moment. You may not want to do that until Lamont's article is sourced.
I think this article may have been created prematurely. Do not feel badly if it is ultimately deleted. If 6 months from now he releases a best selling album, the article can always be recreated. LOL! Best Regards, Cleo123 23:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Bishop Lamont interview & Dr. Dre praises
I have the interview on my cpu (right now I am on campus). I can up it to YouTube (with proper copright info so it'll be considered a proper source) and that should be fine. --Ted87 21:07, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oops. I forgot all about posting the interview (again, I'm not on my home computer). I found a source talking about him getting praises from Dr. Dre and put it in. --Ted87 16:35, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
