Welcome!

Hello, Graciella, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome! , SqueakBox 18:00, September 7, 2005 (UTC)

The problem with IP address article (and other similar) is that /everyone/ with a website providing IP lookup feels entitled to the first place among external links here (earning high Google position as reward). I'd suggested to do a research, pick up few of the most useful and relevant websites, enforce these and remove the constant flood of spam. But that's a work and thus spammers keep upper hand and this invoke counterreaction to delete eveything new. Pavel Vozenilek 21:04, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know it.Thanks for let me know.Another problems is that point of view from different wikipedia members on this site. In my opinion http://www.ip2location.com/ must be deleted. It is commercial site and they earn money from selling their product and i'm gonna to remove it. http://getmypc.info/ does not provide any new info.I'm gonna to delete it too. Wikipedia should provide link to free and not commercial site and not to company who sell their product.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Graciella (talkcontribs) 14:24, September 8, 2005.

Hi JesseW puppeteer! Please stop editing external links on IP_address page. Thank you 0waldo 21:12, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Where does it say that Wikipedia should provide link to free and not commercial site and not to company who sell their product in wikipedia policy? SqueakBox 22:26, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

BTW I think 0waldo is referring to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet in his above comment. You clearly are not Jesse's sockpuppet, IMO, SqueakBox 22:26, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

I do not care what someone say and think about me. I try only to follow ways of my feelings and heart if i say something I think that they are many excellent site that deserve to be listed. The people behind use their time to give something for free and deserve to be listed. Commercial site use their time and work to sell products. And there is nothing wrong about it.But if you sell something then is logical move to buy some space to promote and advertise your product and not to use free space for your selling campaing.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Graciella (talkcontribs) 22:49, September 9, 2005.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Subnetwork. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Crossmr 21:00, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can probably explain to me whats for you appropriate and what inappropriate? If you allow some sites as (i.e http://www.subnet-calculator.com/ or http://www.subnetmask.info/ )and other relevant sites in my opinion not then is something wrong here with your decision. If you chose to not allow external sites then you can simple add links to DMOZ and everything will be fine. Otherwise i have feeling that you are one who allow linking to some sites on wikipedia (maybe thats are your personal sites, affiliates or whatever) and do not allow links to others thats are relevant too.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Graciella (talkcontribs) 19:47, December 1, 2006.

Well for one, there were already 2 links on that page. A third link did not add anything to the article. I also removed one of those links. The links I removed were pages which had advertisements on them and only kept the one which did not. External links are only supposed to be used in the instance that they add something to an article or provide further information/clarification. The external link section of an article is not a free for all to add whatever external link can be found that is remotely related to a subject.--Crossmr 16:50, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Quote: "I also removed one of those links. The links I removed were pages which had advertisements on them and only kept the one which did not.") For your info and i'm wonder that you did not see it but both link mention above have advertisement and you did not removed any of them. Third page provide also subnet calculation, a couple ip ranges addressing tools and as addition much more network tools comparing with already links on that page.--Graciella 14:21, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually when I checked the pages, the ads did not show up on that page, but I saw ads on the other two pages. Checking the source, I see I should be seeing ads, but for some reason I'm not seeing them. Regardless, adding another subnet calculator to the article was unnecessary and added nothing to the article. A quick check of all of them also shows they all convey the same information. I also removed a link that was already there as having a single calculator is all that is needed. That link was placed there long before I even touched the article so it has nothing to do with me. I just picked one.--Crossmr 17:12, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting Changes

Graciella, I'm not sure what's going on (might be an automated bot?), but you are reverting a LOT of the things I'm doing without any justification at all. I would really appreciate it if you would not revert them, and if you feel there is a reason they should be removed give some justification. Thanks! --JoshSkidmore 16:01, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a directory.Use The Open Directory Project for linking--Graciella 18:42, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Geolocation articles

Whoops, sorry about the too-far reverts on those two geolocation articles... I'm not sure how that happened, especially twice, since I was pretty sure I was reverting to the versions with the dmoz links. Anyway, sorry about that, and thanks for catching and fixing my error. —Krellis 17:04, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the problem at all. You do not need to apologize me. I'm not supporter of DMOZ and if you ask me i would allow a lot useful site that DMOZ do not list but it is Wikipedia choice. —Graciella 18:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Internet Censorship

The map is inaccurate because it does not include the categories developed by RWB. Here is the correct map that this one was based off of: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Internet_blackholes_fr.png If you want to translate it from French and repost a more accurate version, go for it, but as it is, it misrepresents the data from RWB.

hello graciella, I added the domain http://www.whatsmyip.com/aboutip.php to the external links. It is just a tiny article about IPs to simply it for people because even wikipedia can be complicated. It was reverted by you. Was there a specific reason for this?

It will be removed again. The site have nothing special and looks more about spam site made for making money. Please check WP:EL and WP:COI WP:NOT. Wikipedia is not linkopedia. We have DMOZ. Submit your site to DMOZ and not here. —Graciella 17:18, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:3RR

I've left a question for you concerning the report made about you at WP:AN3RR. Heimstern Läufer 03:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have left answer. Actually user made report as revenge because i have already complain about it.

Graciella 06:33, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked your for 31 hours because you were yourself blatantly revert-warring, and the edits from the other person weren't "simple vandalism" nor obvious block evasion. Since the dynamic IP address of the other guy can't be efficiently blocked, I've semiprotected the article instead. Fut.Perf. 08:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Graciella (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I'm not gonna to touch anymore article about Alija_Izetbegovi%C4%87]. It was not my intention to goes into revert-warring with unregistered user which ip address was blocked in past but to protect article from onesided and subjective opinion without any evidence. Still do not understand this decision. If someone take a look into log can clearly see that i tried to prevent onesided and subjective opinion and request as first to block already known vandal from ip range 85.158.32.0 - 85.158.35.255 —Graciella 08:28, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Edit warring is forbidden no matter what the merits of the opinion of the other user are. Please read WP.3RR. The IP user is effectively blocked from that article, as it is now semiprotected - IPs can't edit it. — Sandstein 08:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Asiatic Black Bear. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia.
