Was Porky the original Looney Tunes character?

Looks like "Bosko" was the first character according to here

http://www.agsprint.com/~ktappe/wb/ David de Paoli

That's right: The insipid "Bosko", of "Sinkin' in the Bathtub", 1930.

Porky *was*, however, the original Looney Tunes star, defined as an actor who draws audience just by name power. --Steverapaport

"Bosko" was basically a Mickey Mouse knockoff. He also looked a lot like someone wearing "blackface" makeup. So he was a loser on several fronts.

I'm looking in vain for a page that lists all the entries in the category "Fictional pigs". Maybe we need a page for it. So far I'm coming up with these:

  • The Three Little Pigs
  • Porky Pig
  • The pig from "Charlotte's Web"
  • Arnold from "Green Acres" (except it was a real pig, although 'Arnold' might only have been its "sty"ge name)
  • whoever the Beatles were talking about
  • The pig from "Animal Farm", I think its name was Napoleon
  • The pig from the "Babe" movies (maybe it was "Babe", I don't know, I didn't see those flickers)
