Hanon Hōshō (宝生 波音, Hōshō Hanon) Voiced by: Hitomi Terakado is the Mermaid Princess of the South Atlantic Ocean. She is the keeper of the Aqua Pearl. Hanon is very girly, loves to shop and do makeup. Despite joking around a lot, Hanon is pretty smart and talks sense into Lucia on more then one occasion.

Hanon first meets Lucia at their school, where they become fast friends. Hanon falls for the music teacher at school, Taro Mitsuki. She adoringly refers to him as "Taro-chan".

Towards the end of the first anime season, it is revealed that Sara once loved Mitsuki in the past. He desperately tries to get Sara to understand the reason he left her. Hanon is very sad, but understands that Mitsuki loves Sara. She tears a bit, but understands what is best for her country and helps Mitsuki tell the truth to Sara.

Later, after Gaito dies, Mitsuki decides to fly to Germany to study music. Before he leaves, he gives Hanon a composition by him, titled "Goddess of Peace: A Devotional to the Aquamarine Mermaid", making Hanon happy as can be. Hanon accidentally leaves the music there, but Nagisa Shiroi finds it at the airport. Nagisa quickly falls head over heels in love with Hanon, but Hanon initially dismissed his feelings as something immature. As the series progress, Hanon eventually reciprocates his crush on her.
