Beyond is a very famous alternative rock band in Hong Kong, founded in 1980s. Their songs were known for their memorable melodies and especially the soulful vocals by lead vocalist Wong Ka Kui. Among their songs, there are messages of human rights, politics, peace, and protests, all combined with the band's musical talents to reach out to the listeners.

The band was very popular in the late 1980s as well as the early 1990s with hits like 真的愛你 Whole-heartedly Loving You , 俾面派對 Hoping Everything is Right , and 海闊天空 Boundless . All of these won the Jade Solid Gold Awards, the top music awards in Hong Kong. Beyond also starred in a number of movies although they were not generally considered as talented actors and were more revered in Hong Kong as a band with outstanding talent and paving the way for other bands in Hong Kong like Grasshopper who was once under the tutelage of Anita Mui.
