Alba Nydia Díaz

Alba Nydia Díaz, born April 27, 1955 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, is recognized as one the best actresses ever born in Puerto Rico. Díaz is widely respected for her great achievements in television and on-stage, both in the island as in Mexico. One of her most important soap operas carried out in Mexico, was the famous Colorina, in the 70's, with mexican actress: Lucia Mendez, and not less important performances in the legendary, El Derecho de Nacer, and El Maleficio, also taped in TeleVisa.

Nevertheless, the roles she portrayed in her early days and many years after, were not leading roles: ( "Conciencia Culpable",(1969), & Cristina Bazán, (1977), among others, she always managed to stand out in her performances, with that special touch, Díaz has always had, as she portrays the "character", as if it were the real person, in every interpretation.

By the end of the 70's decade, she began to star in the following soap operas, among others, carrying out the leading roles: La Jibarita, taped in Dominican Republic, Modelos S.A., with mexican actor and singer, Fernando Allende, & Puerto Rican actresses, Gisselle Blondet, and Amalia Cruz, & Cuando Despierta un Amor, with Braulio Castillo hijo, both taped in P.R.

Furthermore, Alba Nydia Díaz, has also had an exemplary path, on-stage in Puerto Rico: La Pasión según Antígona Pérez, La Casa de Bernarda Alba, La Carreta, Zorba, the Greek, Electra, Tiempo Muerto, Frida Kalo, etc.

Presently, Díaz has her own Film Production Company called: Copelar, with her actress partner: Sonia Valentín, and she's starred & produced various television movies, such as: Sudor Amargo, & Las Combatientes. Furthermore, Alba Nydia Díaz, is hosting a daily talk show: Entre Nosotras, with Puerto Rican actress: Gladys Rodriguez, among other personalities, broadcasted by Televicentro P.R. & Wapa-America T.V., throughout the United States.

Alba Nydia Díaz, is one of the most eye-catching actresses of all times, in the Puerto Rican entertainment business.
