The Apostolic Faith Mission of Portland, Oregon, United States was founded in 1906 by Florence L. Crawford, after she received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles, California. The organization continues its charter today and is better known now as the "Apostolic Faith Church"

Apostolic Faith Church

The Apostolic Faith Church is a worldwide Pentecostal Church with headquarters in Portland, Oregon. The AFC has about 50 local churches in the USA, 10 in Canada, many in Africa--600 in Nigeria alone--20 throughout the Philippines and Korea, 9 in Europe--centrally Romania--and about 10 in West-Indies. Church-affiliated groups also regularly assemble in other parts of the world.

The AFC officially traces its roots to the 1906-Pentecostal movement that culminated in Azusa Street in Los Angeles. Florence L. Crawford, a participant in the revival, made her way up the West coast in the years to follow, and shortly after the initial Azusa-street outpouring, she settled in Portland, where she continued preaching and publishing materials under the name "The Apostolic Faith Mission." Since July 2000 the President and Superintendent General of the Apostolic Faith Church has been Reverend Darrel D. Lee, who also pastors the Portland Headquarters Apostolic Faith Church.

Today that ministry has resulted in a worldwide organization spanning many cultures. Annual two-week-long campmeetings are held in Portland, Oregon, providing an opportunity for believers in Christ from around the globe to meet and to share their experiences. Many similar conventions are held elsewhere, throughout the year, under the same organizational umbrella.

The Apostolic Faith Church publishes a quarterly magazine entitled "The Higher Way," along with devotionals, tracts, and educational materials, all of which are available online, free of charge, through the church website -- www.apostolicfaithchurch.org.

Locations

The Apostolic Faith Church (Trinitarian) has expanded to many other locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Africa, Asia, and Europe.
