Nedstrand was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see [[formannskapsdistrikt]]). [[Sjernarøy]] was separated from Nedstrand in 1868 - the rest of Nedstrand was merged with [[Tysvær]] January 1, 1965.

Nedstrand is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway.

Nedstrand was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Sjernarøy was separated from Nedstrand in 1868 - the rest of Nedstrand was merged with Tysvær January 1, 1965.

Its population is 978[1].
