Star Trek: Vanguard is a series of novels that take place in the time era of the original Star Trek television series. The series is set around a newly installed space station, Starbase 47, also known as Vanguard, in the Taurus Reach region, located near Tholian space.
While the majority of the characters featured in the series are new, the Vulcan character, T'Prynn, first appeared in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine relaunch novel Lesser Evil.
