The 3rd Tank Battalion (3rd Tanks) was an armored battalion of the United States Marine Corps.

History

The 3rd Tank Battalion was formed during World War II and participated in the Battle of Bouganville, Battle of Guam and the Battle of Iwo Jima. 3rd Tanks were in Vietnam from 1965 to 1969 and would fight in the Gulf War in 1991 as its last campaign before it was deactivated in 1992
