Welcome

HOPE

You said: I would like to write an article on H.O.P.E Tutoring Center, an award-winning and locally notable Arlington literacy charity. However, I'm concerned that it might not qualify as notable by Wikipedia standards. What do you think?

I'd say, read the guidelines at notability and see if you can provide any evidence of notability based on what you see there. Make sure that you put the article into appropriate categories and include some kind of reliable, published sources for verifiability. Worst thing that happens is it gets deleted, but you might as well try, so long as it doesn't take you ages and ages. :) Lawikitejana 06:29, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notes for other editors

  • Note: Need info on predecessor as County Judge, need more accomplishments as County Judge and Congressman, need to add a free photo, need to put in date of political party switch.
  • Note: Should the 3 infoboxes be stacked as a single 3-row box? They are not related so I left them separate.
  • Note: Need to verify WP:BIO complied with done
  • Note: Need to verify WP:BLP complied with request review, particularly for bias favoring subject and poor quality sources. For web sources it is difficult to tell if a source is self-published as described in WP:BLP.
  • Note: Need outside input on whether I should add personal information, such as marraiges and parentage. Other than the family businesses, such information is not notable and not widely reported for this subject. I left it out for that reason. One of the references leads to information about the family, that should be enough for researchers.
