This is a list of disaster films or "doomsday" films, representing more than a century of films within the genre. Disaster films are motion pictures which depict an impending or ongoing disaster. The films typically feature large casts and multiple plotlines, focusing on the protagonists' attempts to avert, escape, or cope with the disaster presented. Though many films may feature disaster elements, only films which are centered around a disaster are presented in this list.
