Bastardized [http://www.bastardized.org] was formed in 1993, by Jinyao (Guitars, Vocals), Jimmy (Guitars) and Kurt (Drums). The three members were all from another band which have broken up. |

The name was chosen to symbolize the combination of the different genres of music from the various influences of which the band members have. They visualize Bastardized as a result, an outcome from the mixing of music from different genres, styles and likes. |

Bastardized started of playing Grindcore, very much in the veins of Napalm Death's Scum and Terrorizer. Writing originals and stuff like that. They continued playing and jamming for about a year, by then they have diverted into straight old school death metal and had already a few songs on hand, almost ready to be recorded. |

They knew Mahmud as the bassist of another band called Exile. He join Bastardized not long after Exile spilt up, somewhere in mid 1994. That's why it was much like a friend playing with them, and not a total stranger. They dive straight into the preparation and writing of new songs and prepared for the recording of the E.P. that they have been talking, planning and dreaming about. They recorded the E.P. with T.N.T. studios. |

1995, Bastardized released the E.P. titled "With Love, With Hate, With Grief, With Pain". They did the cover D.I.Y. sent it to color printing and had releases with the band's name printed on it. In about 2 years later (1996), they received a letter from Valentine Sound Productions (Malaysia). The letter express their interest in taking production rights of the E.P. in Malaysia. Bastardized agreed and went down to KL to sign the papers. |

In the following years, the band started to venture and experiment with different styles and melodies. They had quite a number of opportunities to play thanks to all the contacts, friends and organizers that supported them. |

All of them were liable to serve the country and thus each of them spend 2.5 years in various vocations. That took away almost a year of Bastardized jam life before they could settle down and arrange their schedule to jam regularly again. After NS, they had to re-adjust the schedule as all of them had started working. |

Robyn was Jinyao's secondary school classmate. Some where in mid 1999, Jinyao suggested to her if she would try to play the keyboards for the band. |

From the E.P. "With Love, With Hate, With Grief, With Pain" and four years down the road now, Bastardized is preparing a new album "The Solemn Moments". From the brutal, high speed and aggression, Bastardized now divines its control in power and abundant tempo variations in their new songs. With the addition of a new member playing keyboards, Bastardized has evolved more melodies and ambience ever. New vocals with a new approach to express inner most emotions. |
