Canadian groups such as the Canadian Peace Alliance and the Collectif Échec á la Guerre (roughly translated: the Thwart Warfare Collective) have expressed strong opposition to the summit and are calling for protests to be held during the summit. Security officials have announced that there will be a 25 kilometer blackout zone around the Château. Mainstream media has not covered the coming conference or the threat to free speech.
