When Chris Capuano recovered from his injury Gallardo was expected to go to the bullpen, but later manager Ned Yost said, "we will go with a 6 man rotation for the time being"
After coming out of the bullpen for three games, Gallardo was inserted back into the starting rotation on July 17th, 2007 when Brewers ace Ben Sheets went on the 15-day disabled list with a right distal finger sprain. Gallardo is expected to return back to the bullpen once Sheets returns.
