Tom McGrath has had experience in both television and feature animation.

He was a director for the popular series The Ren and Stimpy Show.

He was also an animator for Space Jam and Hercules and Xena - The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus, and a storyboard artist for the live-action movies Cats & Dogs and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

He recently made his computer animated debut as the co-director and co-writer of Madagascar.
